Uniswap’s first launchpad is available on Robinhood Chain, and traders are stocking into $FRONG and $POOLS. Retail is accelerating, but so are the questions. Uniswap has entered a new route. The DEX giant is not only about routing trades, creating pools, and powering swaps, with the pools.trade it has entered into the token launchpad game on Robinhood Chain, where memecoin energy, retail FOMO, and quick liquidity cycles are at full pace. This shift has made the traders enthusiastic, but also uncertain.
Bulls see Uniswap bringing reliability, distribution, and suitable launch mechanics, which can become the retail’s newest playground. Bears see a DEX giant running behind speeds from the same launchpad environment that helped it to drive sales to Uniswap in the first place.
Uniswap Shifts to Token Launch
Pools.trade is Uniswap’s new launchpad, where users can launch tokens, find new ones, and trade them through one mechanism. Uniswap says launches can use either a four-hour crowd launch or a quick launch, with tokens ending in Uniswap v4 pools and liquidity locked permanently. The launch was far from simple as per Hayden Adams, Uniswap’s founder. The founder posted on X and stated, “This rollout has been absolutely insane. Degens discovered earlier versions of the smart contracts and traded over $150m in trading volume before the UI even went live.”
In the post, the founder then stated that this created a technical issue for the team because it had to update the website and indexing systems to push both the prior test versions and end versions of the contracts altogether and this is why the rollout took so long. Robinhood Chain already rolled out with Uniswap as its primary public AMM, including support across Uniswap v2, v3, v4, Uniswap X, the web application, wallet, and API.
Hayden Adams also said that Uniswap is not stepping into a new market. As per him, people have used Uniswap as a launchpad and launchpad infrastructure for more than eight years. The company now plans to build this along with other launchpads.
The Mystery Made the Launch Appealing
The launch has also gathered a significant amount of hype because the rollout felt very unique to the investors. There were hidden pages, teasers, frog imagery, contract breadcrumbs, and much more that created a sense of mystery. Some treated it as a tactic for brilliant marketing. Others claimed it to be imbalanced. That mystery helped create a new sense of discovery.
It has been observed that crypto traders usually prefer early expectations, and the launch gave them that. But it also raised questions. If a launchpad is being built by one of DeFi’s most crucial teams, users expect that there is better communication, clearer details, and less confusion around which tokens are actually official. Moreover, as of now, Uniswap wants memecoin-centric energy.
The entire market is focused on how Uniswap fulfills the expectations. Similarly, Adams acknowledged that Pools.trade is still in beta. He said that the Uniswap Labs team has been constantly working on the product and plans to release a steady stream of changes and developments. It means that the present version is unlikely to be the final product, especially when the team looks for feedback from traders and retailers.
Uniswap Bulls See Growth, Bears Warn of Launchpad Risks
Santiment’s information shows UNI supply on exchanges has plunged 15.7% over the past month. This is crucial because UNI’s price has also increased roughly 47%. With high prices and supply on exchange plunging, this is a strong indication that the rally may not be over. In UNI’s case, the launchpad narrative, Robinhood chain activity, and Uniswap environment expansion all arrived while exchange balances were struggling.
Pools.trade is more than a product launch. It is Uniswap’s aim to capture the early part of the token life cycle, which is the launch. If it works in their favor, Uniswap internal Robinhood chain into a new retail funnel, acquire more fees, deepen v4 usage. But the risks are also present. Pump chase rotation can affect late buyers. Token legitimacy is still unsure in parts of the launchpad environment. Competing platforms may give a tough competition. And if Uniswap’s brand becomes chaotic to mean for launches, it could harm their reputation.
Bulls are right that Uniswap has a distribution cycle, reliability, and infrastructure that most launchpads lack. The bears are right because it is true that the customer FOMO can reverse fast. Pools.trade may become a real mechanism, but traders should separate the platform’s potential from the short-term chaos around every frock, pool, and launchpad token connected to it.
