TRON recorded potent growth across network activity, stablecoin settlement and DeFi liquidity in the second quarter of 2026 as posted on X earlier today, September 3, 2026. According to the post, the network closed the quarter with $28.15 billion in total value locked (TVL), demonstrating an 8.27% increase from $26 billion in Q1 and a 16.9% surge from $24.08 billion in 2025.

TRON also processed 1.1 billion transactions and generated $722 million in protocol income during the quarter. Its stablecoin ecosystem remained a crucial part of network activity, with $89 billion in stablecoin supply and $2.08 trillion in stablecoin settlement volume.

TRON Network Activity Grows as Transaction Reach 1.1 Billion

TRON recorded 1.1 billion transactions in Q2 2026, marking a 12% increase quarter by quarter. The growth was pushed mainly by higher token transfers, better contract interactions, and TRX transfers. The network also observed 16.4 million active addresses during the quarter.

TRON said new user acquisition and active addresses both increased, with active users rising 14% year by year amid environment integration and collaborations. Total token volume reached 2.12 trillion dollars in Q2, USDT remained the leading token by trading volume, while activity involving USDT and TRX helped push a 5% increase in the trading volume of top tokens compared with the prior quarter.

TRON also created $722 million in protocol income during Q2, an 18% quarter-over-quarter increase. As per the report, the increase was primarily driven by greater use of staking for energy, allowing network participants to use staked energy to facilitate transactions and decrease transaction costs.

Network’s average block size increased 8.5% during the quarter to 96kB, out of a theoretical 2,000kB capacity. TRON said that the feasible block space capacity demonstrates that the network could theoretically support a twenty-fold increase in transaction throughput without compromising user acquisition.

Meanwhile, TRX’s Q2 burn ratio plunged 5%. It attributed the change largely to users choosing to stake TRX for energy rather than burn TRX to decrease the transaction fees.

Stablecoin Settlement and TVL Strengthen TRON’s DeFi Position

Stablecoins were the most important part of the TRON’s ecosystem in Q2. According to the report, stablecoin supply reached $89 billion during the quarter, reflecting continued adoption of the network for stablecoin activity. Stablecoin settlement volume reached $2.08 trillion, which TRON described as a recovery from the previous quarter. The network continued to place itself as a major infrastructure layer for cross-border payments and value transfers, supported by its transaction cost and throughput.

TRON’s DeFi liquidity also extended during the quarter. TVL hit $28.15 billion, up from $26 billion in Q1 2026. On a year-over-year basis, TVL increased from $24.08 billion in 2025, representing a 16.9% rise. The top five protocols and categories accounted for $26.67 billion of Q2 TVL. TRX Staking led with $15.21 billion, followed by JustLend DAO with $6.64 billion.

USDD recorded $2.17 billion, Just Cryptos held $2.01 billion, and Sun.io accounted for $640 million. Liquidity also improved across the USDT-TRX pair. The pool recorded $4.93 billion  in Q2 volume, up 15.46% from $4.27 billion  in Q1. However, the figure remained below the $11.08 billion recorded in Q2 2025 and $6.70 billion in Q4 2025.

Outside the USDT-TRX pair, USDT-JST was the largest market by USDT volume at $134.26 million, followed by USDT-USDD at $66.56 million. TRX’s circulating supply remained widely stable during the quarter, increasing slightly from 94.77 billion in Q1 to 94.80 billion in Q2, which is a 0.03% quarterly increase.

The network recorded 356.32 million TRX minted and 269.45 million TRX burned during the second quarter, resulting in 86.87 million TRX of net issuance. That compared with 70.53 million TRX of net issuance in quarter one, indicating a comprehensive inflationary gap during the quarter as burns plunged while issuance remained stable.

Overall, Tron second quarter figures point to the expansion in transaction activity, stablecoin usage, and on-chain liquidity. The network’s $28.15 billion TVL, $89 billion stablecoin supply, and 2.08 trillion settlement volume further highlight the role stablecoins and payments continue to play in its ecosystem.
