Crypto assets trading platform Bitfinex announced on Friday that margin trading on the FTX token is now available with the US Dollar. As per the company’s tweet, the FTT/USD pair can be traded with a maximum leverage of 1.66x, initial equity of 60%, and a maintenance margin of 30%.
Margin trading is one of the major forms of traditional financial trading and is expected to play a significant role in popularizing crypto-based financial trade systems. In the official announcement on its website, Bitfinex stated,
After bursting the bubble that crypto is an “easy-money-making” asset, the biggest challenge for the crypto companies is to now normalize digital currencies as alternative assets to traditional financial products. In this regard, it becomes important for them to introduce more and more options for traditional investors. Prior to this, Bitfinex has made margin trading with the USD available on Algorand and Cosmos tokens as well.
