US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) nominee Paul Atkins is expected to confirm his new administrative role as soon as April 9, as the US Senate will vote on the nominee soon.
Paul Atkins To be Soon Confirmed by SEC
According to Fox News journalist Eleanor Terrett, the US Senate has scheduled a recess motion vote for Paul Atkins, the nominee for chairman of the SEC, at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow (23:30 today, Beijing time).
🚨NEW: The Senate has scheduled a cloture vote for @SECGov Chair nominee Paul Atkins at 11:30AM tomorrow.

Terrett said, “Passing the recess motion vote is the next step to confirm his appointment. If the vote is successful, Paul Atkins may have a full confirmation vote as early as 7:00 p.m. (7:00 tomorrow, Beijing time).”
Note that ahead of a scheduled confirmation hearing with the Senate Banking Committee, Atkins disclosed that he and his wife, Sarah Humphreys, hold at least $327 million in assets.
Mr. and Mrs. Atkins’ assets are partially tied to their stakes in Atkins’ consulting firm, Patomak Global Partners, and Tamko Building Products, a roofing company that Humphreys’ family controls. According to a financial disclosure made public on March 25 by the US Office of Government Ethics, the family owns 75% of Tamko.
Upon his confirmation, Atkins will resign as CEO of Patomak and divest his ownership interests, including his stock options in Securitize. Since his official nomination by President Donald Trump in December, Atkins was, for the first time, officially reviewed by US lawmakers on March 27.
Following ex-SEC chair Gary Gensler’s departure on January 20, Commissioner Mark Uyeda has been serving as the SEC’s acting chair.
