Leading crypto exchange, Coinbase has expanded its global advisory board by adding key political and economic figures, including Chris LaCivita, the campaign manager for Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid and current chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Trump Campaign Manager Makes Their Way to Coinbase
According to reports, Coinbase announced the appointment of four prominent leaders to strengthen its ties with Washington. The new members include Chris LaCivita, manager of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign and current chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC); and Bill Dudley, former president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (2009-2018).
In addition, former Arizona U.S. Senator Krysten Sinema and Allen & Co. Managing Director Luis Alberto Moreno has also joined the committee.
The global advisory board, established in 2023, provides strategic guidance to the company but does not have voting rights, unlike Coinbase’s board of directors.
With Trump returning to office, crypto firms—including Coinbase—are actively lobbying for favorable regulatory policies. The new administration’s key financial appointments, including SEC Chair Paul Atkins and the Treasury Secretary, are seen as pro-crypto, raising industry hopes for regulatory relief.
Trump’s Crypto, AI Ambitions for US
Trump’s inauguration saw the presence of numerous business leaders, indicating that his second term will prioritize economic growth and business expansion. Similarly, Trump recently warned U.S. entrepreneurs about the rise of Chinese AI applications like DeepSeek and called it a wake-up call for America, urging American companies to strengthen their competitive edge in technology.
Amid evolving crypto regulations, Coinbase’s decision to bring in Trump’s campaign manager is seen as a ‘mutually strategic’ effort to build stronger relationships with the new administration, as Trump remains focused on strengthening businesses, particularly in crypto and AI .
