Solana’s on-chain Artificial Intelligence (AI) concept coin, Biosphere3 (BIOS), has been making waves, with its market cap exceeding US$10 million within 2 minutes of its launch.
Biosphere3 is an AI civilization evolution sandbox and a large-scale multi-agent public science experiment developed by a team from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), led by Professor Wang Yang, a reputed mathematician and vice-president of HKUST, as the chief researcher.

Biosphere3’s market cap quickly reached $10 million within minutes of its launch. As of this writing, BIOS is trading at $0.0193, following a surge of over 560% in the past 24 hours. The 24-hour market volume has also seen a significant rise, standing at $81.36 million. The market cap of this newly launched project has already established itself at $20.6 million.
It is reported that HKUST’s artificial intelligence program ranks tenth globally in the 2024 QS World University Rankings.
Intrigued by the advent of ChatGPT, BIOSphere3’s team shared the project’s backstory in a post on X: “Inspired by works like Generative Agents: Interactive Simulacra of Human Behavior (thanks to @joon_s_pk) and earlier projects like @Auto_GPT and Voyager, we started Biosphere3 in April 2023.”
The project shows great promise, backed by a strong research foundation. Its Q2 roadmap includes milestones such as the opening of AIGC and UGC modules, the launch of the Agent Marketplace, and the release of the Universal Sovereign Agent Framework.
