Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple CEO, in an interview with Margaret Brennan for 60 Minutes, emphasized on the fact that the crypto community is not seeking deregulation but is rather seeking proper guidelines and a proper regulatory framework. In the recent 60 Minutes interview, Garlinghouse stated, “We haven’t been asking it (guidelines) to be deregulated but we have been asking for it (guidelines) to be regulated. Just give us clear rules of the roads.” he stated.

Brenan’s Probing Questions for Brad Garlinghouse

In the interview, Margaret Brenan was pressing some difficult question on to the Ripple CEO. The question were clear and also revolved around Ripple’s ongoing legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She questioned Garlinghouse if Ripple’s call for regulation was to push back against the SEC’s authority.

To this Garlinghouse firmly dismissed the entire notion and explained that the entire crypto community has been seeking clarity and criticizing the SEC for a long time now.

Call for Action

Garlinghouse in this interview emphasized the urgency for regulatory clarity. During the interview, questions were also raised regarding Trump’s anti-crypto stance in 2021 where he called Bitcoin a “scam”, to his current pro-crypto stance. To this Garlinghouse said “I did not have a front row seat to that but one thing is clear that Donald Trump embraced crypto and crypto embraced Donald Trump.”

Ripple CEO is confident that with a change in the administration, the reestablishment of clearer crypto guideline is imminent and will help the U.S. become crypto capital of the planet as Trump aims US to be.
