Key Highlights:
- Pi Network announces that it is increasing focus on AI integration.
- This integration will increase blockchain utility.
- The network also announced a deadline for nodes to update their software.
Pi Network posted a video featuring its co-founder Chengdiao Fan on social media platform X today, March 6, 2026. In the video, the co-founder talks about how the Pi network is now focusing on integrating artificial intelligence with the Pi blockchain.
With this integration, the co-founder hopes that this will create more useful applications for everyday users.

With this integration, the co-founder said that they are hoping that the network is able to build real products that can be used in day-to-day lives and as AI will be used, it will help build an app that is easy to use by anyone and everyone, specially to people that do not have technical background.
One such example that Pi Network already uses is Pi’s Art Studio platform. With this tool users can use digital art using AI. The art that is created using this app does need the user to have a coding background. The users can generate their ideas through AI and launch them on the network. These creations can also be monetized within the ecosystem.
Amalgamation of AI Technology and Blockchain Technology
Fan also pointed out that as of now AI technology is booming at a great speed and blockchain technology is becoming more and more mature as the time passes. This creates an opportunity for networks like Pi to build practical applications in areas such as digital payments, decentralized finance (DeFi), online governance systems, and digital identity solutions.
Pi Network’s Mainnet Infrastructure
Moreover, the network also announced earlier today that it is also working on upgrades of the Mainnet Infrastructure. The latest round of updates focuses on improving network stability, security and performance.
Protocol upgrades in progress (Step 3 – Deadline: March 12): The Pi Mainnet blockchain protocol continues to undergo a series of upgrades. All Mainnet Nodes are required to complete this step before the deadline to remain connected to the network. Details here:…

Node operators will have to shift to the upgraded versions by March 12, 2026, so they can still be connected to the network. The main aim of the upgrade is to improve transaction speed, increase security and make sure that there is proper synchronization between the nodes.
The network uses the Stellar Consensus Protocol to validate transactions, and the updates are designed to optimize this system for higher transaction volumes.
Recent progress shows the network continuing to expand. Millions of wallet migrations to the Mainnet have already taken place, and the team expects activity to increase further as the annual Pi Day celebration on March 14 approaches.
All of these changes indicate that the network is making significant effort to shift toward long-term utility. The network is bringing in the most booming technology onto the network so that the network can move ahead of token mining and build something that has real life application.
