OpenSea Raised $100M in Investment Round Led by a16z

Leveraging the growing potential of blockchain technology, OpenSea has announced that it has been successfully raised $100M in the investment round that has been led by a16z. Other prominent investors who were part of the money-raising exercise include Michael Ovitz, Dylan Field, Kevin Hartz, Ashton Kutcher, and Kevin Durant.

OpenSea is one of the leading players in the segment of NFTs marketplace. The company has successfully created a name for itself thanks to its customer-oriented policies and user-friendly interface. There is a huge potential in the NFT category. OpenSea is vying to leverage on NFT marketplaces and working hard to develop systems and procedures that will help the entire ecosystem of NFTs run in a self-sustainable manner future. This is important because for any ecosystem to have a long-term business and economic viability, it must have stakeholders who can operate in a self-sustainable manner.

In addition, the mission of OpenSea is to convert the basic utility of the internet from just being an information transfer mechanism to a value-adding transformative apparatus. To realize this ambitious goal, OpenSea has raised $100M in the latest round of investment from investors.

According to crypto experts, this large amount testifies to the popularity and credibility that OpenSea enjoys is in the minds of investors who seem to be very confident about the company’s prospects. OpenSea has recently introduced support for cross-blockchain by opening a new marketplace of the Polygon blockchain platform with a gas-free feature. This means while investors make a trade on the OpenSea, they won’t be paying any fee to utilize the platform’s services. It is a wonderful opportunity for creators because they can earn their rewards without having any need to share them with the platform for the first time they use the OpenSea platform.
