Metaplanet has ambitious goals on accumulating, aiming to accumulate a hoard of 30,000 BTC by the conclusion of 2025. Far in the future, the company aims at reaching 100,000 BTC in 2026. Metaplanet has reached approximately 67/2025 of its goal and approximately 20/2026 of its goal as 20,136 BTC have already been secured.
The company will require to buy nearly 10,000 bitcoins at the end of 2025 and 70,000 next year 2026 in order to achieve these high targets. The targets are a huge growth over the initial projections of Metaplanet which had 10,000 BTC by 2025 and 21,000 BTC by 2026.
Yield growth underscores accumulation strategy
Metaplanet has introduced its own metric, called BTC Yield, to track the results of its strategy. Year-to-date, the company reports a remarkable 487% BTC Yield, underlining its aggressive approach. Between July 1 and September 8, the firm recorded a 30.8% gain in this measure, driven by rapid additions to its reserve
Since late June, Metaplanet has expanded its stash from just over 12,000 BTC to more than 20,000, highlighting its relentless pace. The company argues that its Bitcoin acquisition plan is intended to be accretive for shareholders, even amid volatility.
In spite of aggressive growth in Bitcoin, the stock performance of Metaplanet has been behind. On Monday, its shares dropped 2.3% in Tokyo. This was a continuation of an almost 20% decline of the week before.
Metaplanet shares have been now plummeting down to a four-month low and this is a drastic fall of 63% compared to their soaring high earlier this year. Investor fears over volatility and exposure to risk, market analysts opine, could be pressurizing the stock, even as Bitcoin related gains continue to bolster the balance sheet of the company.
Metaplanet still positions as the Japanese alternative to MicroStrategy and is steadily increasing its involvement in Bitcoin, with its ambition to reach high accumulation targets. Having clear targets and an aggressive acquisition rate, the company is sending long-term signals of confidence in Bitcoin even in the face of a short-term turbulence of the market.
