Free education program Giggle Academy, funded by Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, has already received more than $1 million in consecutive crypto donations within 12 hours. Giggle Fund (GIGGLE), a meme coin on Binance Chain, emerged as the largest donor and bagged a major exchange listing after CZ’s acknowledgement.
GIGGLE Gets Singapore Exchange Listing Amid Hype
As a person who personally covers the operational expense of Giggle Academy, CZ went to X to complain about the excessive support. “Crazy that Giggle Academy received more than $1m donations in the first 12 hours of the feature being online. Way beyond my expectations,” he wrote.
Zhao stated that 90% of the contributions were made by a meme coin with a market cap of only $5 million, which provoked his reconsideration of the little-treated crypto segment. “I still don’t get how a $5m market cap coin can generate $900k in fees in 12 hours for donations. I don’t know who created it, or how the smart contract was coded. But thank you! This will forever change my perception of meme coins. Meme coins have utility!”
The donations, Zhao assured, will only be utilized to give rewards to contributors and drive the growth of the project. “They will not be used to pay employees. I will cover employee and server costs for the foreseeable future personally,” he noted.

To avoid confusion that could arise due to the GIGGLE meme coin’s name, which makes it sound like it is associated with the Giggle Academy, he also stressed that Giggle Academy would not issue its own token. Zhao clarified, “Giggle Academy did not create a token, and will not create a token in the foreseeable future. I don’t want to complicate a free education platform with tokenomics.”
The creators of Giggle Fund (anonymous in this case) reacted very swiftly to the remarks that CZ was making, stating that they were still determined to continue working with the education platform. They said, “Thanks so much for the recognition, CZ! We’re not stopping here! The donation tax mechanism is hard-coded into our contract — so long as the $GIGGLE token exists, it will donate 5% fees to Giggle Academy! Let’s send the donation wallet to $10m!!!”
They also promised to allocate an additional $3 million Binance Coin (BNB) in their subsequent round of donations.
The dramatic influx of media coverage has not passed unnoticed by the rest of the crypto ecosystem. Giggle Fund was officially listed on the spot trading pair on Monday by Singapore-based exchange BitKan. In the statement, the company quoted that “New Listing: Giggle Fund #GIGGLE spot trading pair is now available for trade on BitKan Crypto Exchange.”
The listing is a major milestone on the part of GIGGLE that has barely taken off yet, after it implemented a 5% donation tax that goes into Giggle Academy. The trade action may also raise the liquidity and presence of the coin, especially among retail investors who will be attracted to the charitable aspect of meme coin trading.
Binance’s CZ Thanks the Public
CZ, in his turn, has defined a long-term plan of the Giggle Academy that focuses on its sustainability, not based on such devices as tokens but alumni donations. He said, “I believe Giggle is perfectly capable of sustaining itself in the future (5-10 years later) by donations from Alumni networks who got (better) jobs because of the education Giggle provided, and the general public.”
Since the site is now supported by the community-driven donations of meme coins as well as the personal support of CZ, the model of free world education, inherently promoted by Giggle Academy, can possibly gain additional traction. To conclude his post, Zhao wrote: “Let’s together make education free for all of our future generations, and make it high quality! Thank you, and onwards!”
