A self-proclaimed Chinese programmer, Hu Lezhi, has carried out significant Ethereum transactions, destroying 603 ETH (about $1.65 million) and distributing 1,950 ETH (approximately $5.35 million) across multiple wallets. Alongside these transfers, Hu posted allegations against Kuande Investment executives Feng Xin and Xu Yuzhi, accusing them of employing “brain-computer weapons” against current and former employees.
Chinese Programmer’s Ethereum Saga
Kuande Investment, also known as WizardQuant, is a hedge fund focused on quantitative trading strategies. The transactions were executed over several days, with the most notable destruction involving 500 ETH (valued at $1.38 million), which was sent to an Ethereum null address, permanently eliminating the funds.
Among the donations, 711.52 ETH ($1.97 million) was transferred to a WikiLeaks-linked address, while another 700 ETH ($1.94 million) went to a Ukraine-related donation wallet. Additional addresses received a total of 1,238 ETH ($3.4 million). The programmer’s wallets were identified as having connections to major exchanges, including OKX and Binance.
Feng Xin, the company’s CEO, holds a PhD in Statistics from Columbia University and also serves as the firm’s Chief Risk Officer. Xu Yuzhi, the Chief Investment Officer, has a background in mathematics from Renmin University of China.
Crypto users across social media are closely monitoring the wallet movements linked to Hu Lezhi. The incident has also led to the creation of Solana-based meme coins inspired by the controversy.
